Young People with Curls

My aim is to see young people empowered with a sense of value of their natural texture and not be led to believe that they have ‘difficult’, ‘unmanageable’ or ‘unattractive’ hair just because it has a tight curl diameter or is wiry and high density. If your child’s hair texture has traditionally not been catered to or cared for skilfully in a mainstream hair salon experience you may need to see a curl specialist. As a curl specialist I am trained and experienced in working with curly textures that sit anywhere on the spectrum of wavy-curly, to curly, to kinky-coily textures. You will not see a straightening iron, brush or comb brought out to try and ‘make sense of’ your child’s hair before or during the cut. And they will leave with their curls and dignity intact.

All Services for Young People With Curls begin with an initial pre-consulation, where I ask that you message or email me at thecurlnextdoor dot nz at gee mail dot com , advising which appointment type you wish to book for. If it involves a Curl Cut, please send photos of your hair from the front, sides and back for me to assess what time I need to allocate for the appointment.
